A couple photos from Cshea's & Larry's Marriage:

Cshea and Larry prepare to smooch upon officially being pronounced hubby & hubby.

And look who else was there—Erin & Melissa! Hooray! It's O-fficial!
Most folks dropping by this blog don't know these folks, but that's okay. Just know that they are amazing people who deserve all the happiness in the world. I am extremely happy and proud of them. Last July Erin and Melissa held a beautiful ceremony in Washington Park. Jenn and I, who were married through the 24-Hour Coin-Operated Church of Elvis, remarked that it was ridiculous that our marriage somehow "counted" and theirs didn't. In our hearts, of course, we all know it counts. But it's long past time for the rest of society to pull its collective head from its boo-tay. Anyhoo, my warmest congrats to both couples! You guys rock!
For friends of Larry & Cshea who happen upon this post, there are plenty more pics at Cshea's & Larry's Marriage. Drop by and send 'em congrats!
UPDATE: And let's not forget Els & Lisa, who married on Wednesday.

hey! we got married on July 12th. owen is eating your memory! MORE PICTURES!!!!!!
love,
auntie erin
ps- we had a baby shower for our friends KD and Jeana on Saturday, they got married on Sunday, and they are in hospital giving birth today!
Posted by: erin at March 8, 2004 11:45 AMYay! About time they made honest men of each other. All that livin' in sin was gettin' downright peculiar.
Posted by: --k. at March 8, 2004 11:50 AMFor shame! Do you not realize that gay marriage makes Jesus cry tears of pure acid?
Seriously though, these pictures fill me with so much joy.
Same Sex Marriage opponents have a reason to fear. This is an unstoppable force. Not even might savior acid tears can stop it. They'll just have to learn to accept it eventually.

Oops. My bad. June and July always get mixed up for me. I corrected it.
Posted by: Kevin Moore at March 8, 2004 12:45 PMI always cry at weddings... a huge congratuations to Cshea & Larry. Your relationship has lasted longer already than lots of marriages! I remember vividly the feeling of pride and excitement with which I signed my marriage license. I can only imagine how you both must have felt. I am thrilled you FINALLY have the opportunity so many of us hets have abused and taken for granted for so long. By the way, have you picked your china pattern?
Posted by: Jenn Moore at March 8, 2004 02:05 PMSweet! Congratulations to all the blissful couples!
But don't people dress up for their weddings in Portland? ...says the man who forgot his clothes when heading off for the weekend in Vermont where he got married. Nope, no style here. Fortunately, the Mrs forgot her clothes too. Yep, we were made for each other.
And that is what makes these pics so darned satisfying: these friends of our host were made for one another too. Thanks for letting the rest of us crash your party!
Posted by: Martial at March 8, 2004 07:54 PMSpeaking of clothing: What I love about these and other pics I have seen of the crowds surrounding the Multnomah County building is that everyone showed up to get married in their Columbia Sportswear jackets. How Portland is that?! :)
Posted by: Kevin Moore at March 8, 2004 10:46 PMCongratulations all you nuptial newbies, may your marriages be blessed with great happiness! :) As I've told friends and family, I have been very proud to be part of the Portland community this past week, for the courage it's city council and city residents have shown in facing this issue head-on without flinching or being apologists. Huzzah!
Posted by: Kim at March 9, 2004 01:24 AMYeah, but would it have killed Cshea to ditch the hat?

Uh, we're still living in sin! It's entirely too much fun not to! ;-) LOL

Thank you ALL for your congrats! No, Jenn, we have yet to pick out a china pattern. LOL In fact, I would doubt that we actually will. These homos don't have the Martha Stewart gene. But after second thought, that's probably a good thing! ;-)
Re: "Yeah, but would it have killed Cshea to ditch the hat? --k"
The hat was to some measure to keep me warm that day. You can't tell it, but it was COOOOLD outside, and the covered walkway we had been standing under while waiting in line was acting as a wind tunnel! I insisted on standing in the sun for the ceremony, just to glean some warmth. LOL
As an FYI/Event heads-up, COLAGE (Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere) is starting a Portland Chapter and having their kick-off event/dinner Saturday night (the 13th). Matt and I of course will be there and likely getting involved (Matt's mom is a lesbian), but I figured this might be an appropriate thread to let others know about it. The event is free and there will be information, music and food! If you want more information, drop me an email at kim@pbbr.com and I'll forward the RSVP email.
