Stephanie McMillan pens another greeting card, this time to commemorate Mothers' Day in her own particular way.
But, Stephanie, don't you realize? The mother's role in a warrior society is to publicly grieve for her son's noble sacrifice. Then turn around and squeeze out more cannon fodder for the war machine. God bless.

Posted by: kevin's mom at May 6, 2004 09:51 PMA mother's role also includes relentlessly demanding new pictures of grandchildren, regardless of time, space, context or other more pressing difficulties in one's life. "Honey, I know the ship you're on is sinking, but before you board the life raft, could you find some time to upload some photos to your web site? Thanks. That'd be great."
New Owen photos will appear when I find the time. Note there has not been a new cartoon up either. These things are related.
Posted by: Kevin Moore at May 7, 2004 07:53 AMI hope Kevin's Mom didn't see the pic of me sucking the poor kid's brain out through the top of his oh-so-pliable skull. She'd probably plotz.
