Er...Slight Delay

So yesterday when I said there would be a cartoon today, you probably thought, "Hey, I'll check back tomorrow and see if there's a cartoon." But you probably also thought—because experience has taught you well, grasshopper—that there was an equal likelihood there would be no cartoon here today. For most of the evening you whiled away the hours in pleasant reflections upon Shroedinger's cat; then this morning, you sipped some coffee and directed your web browser to this humble site, only to find that, No, Virginia, Santa Claus was declared dead by Nietzche's nephew Mortimer a century ago, and, plbrrt, no cartoon.

I thought I would have time last night, but the little O-man woke up every hour with either hunger, gas pain, or that not-so-fresh feeling in his drawers. I'd get him to sleep for maybe half an hour, then waaahhhh, then bottle, change, rock, place in crib, where he would sometimes instantly awake, more waaahhhh, and resume the process until a new factor presented itself: he got cold. So: change diaper, new suit of jammies, rock, feed, lay in bed and hey, waddaya know, it's 1:30am. Time for daddy to hit his own crib.

I'm home now with the boy, who presently naps in his crib (just had a short ordeal with the small dog about his barking; as if one child weren't enough, oy); I would do the cartoon tonight, but I plan to go to work when Jenn gets home so I can catch up on stuff I am still behind on thanks to an OS meltdown two weeks ago. So, well...how's Friday? I should be able to draw a new cartoon by then.

(If you're wondering whom I am truly appealing to, it's my own conscience. Not finding time to do the strip has been killing me. I mean, have ya noticed the state of da woyld?)
