The Family Sickness

Shortly after noting in my last entry that there would be a new cartoon this very Monday, I got up, drank some coffee, stopped, ran to the bathroom and vomited. No, it wasn't the coffee (although that was my immediate suspicion); it was one of those "things going around" that somehow caught up with me. Jenn had it, too. Owen's parents spent most of the weekend laying around the living room, sleeping off fevers and trying not to yakk. Fortunately, we had the kind assistance of our dear friends Patrick and Kelly to come over and keep the boy entertained and keep us stocked with ginger ale and crackers. And, thankfully, Owen gave his mommy and daddy a break: he slept most of the time, anyway—this, despite having diarrhea himself, a cough and, the next day, a bit of an upset tummy that at times shot out a stream of vomit two feet in the air. He is fine now. We fed him a tablespoon of Pedialite every five minutes until he was able to take in (and put out) food normally.

In other words, today's cartoon will appear tomorrow. See ya then.

Yes, very much so, thanks. Slight cough, and I still get a wee bit feverish, but that will pass. Blegh. I hate being sick. I have a strong immunity system, so I rarely fall ill; now that I have a kid, however, I have more opportunities of exposure, the worst petrie dish being day care.

I noticed. I can't count how many times I've slipped viruses into yer beer only to see your cheeks take on a seemingly even rosier glow of good health. I finally went and asked for my money back from the WMD dealer, but he shot me in the foot with an anthrax dart and told me my mother was a camel.

so, when you brought mr owen over after he was KICKED OUT OF DAYCARE FOR BEING SICK we both got his little ickiness that seems to have infected you. the good part is it only seems to last 24 hours, then it tapers out and quits soon enuf. I hope you all feel better soon. However, we'll be irratiating anyone who comes over to visit!
