You know... this is an almost totally unrelated comment in terms of the (very nifty, moderately inspiring) story linked here, but I always thought that Ms. Smith was one of the few good parts of that unmitigated disaster called Herman's Head.

No point, just sayin'.

I never saw "Herman's Head," but did see Yeardley act in the movie "As Good As It Gets" (directed by Simpsons producer James L. Brooks, and her character's last name was "Simpson" wink wink).

I just got a book on tape of Stephen King short stories from the library, and one of the stories was read by her. It may prove interesting to hear Lisa Simpson discuss bloody dismemberments.

As for the story itself, jeezus. She's a pretty woman. Sad that so many nice people have their lives dominated by self-hate.

[flashes back on hearing that millions of Buffy fans thought the size-10 actress who played Willow's squeeze was "too fat."] :(

[stirs an extra spoonful of real sugar into her iced tea and raises it in salute.]

Gezunteh Heit ("In good health"), Yeardley.

To me, she'll always be the star of The Legend of Billie Jean.

Apparently, she gets a lot of requests from people she's in a relationship with do "do the Lisa voice" during sex. Which kind of makes eating disorders seem so... normal.
