I meant to post this earlier, but "stuff" happened, including a bad back getting worse (argh): in last Friday's sketchbook entry, me sorely missed pal Chris Baldwin does an amusing "impersonation" of my drawing style along with those of other cartoonists appearing in ATTITUDE 2. (Ya bought it already, right? Chris did! He's cool. Are you cool? C'mon, everybody's doing it. Just...one...taste...maa-an.) His impersonations are uncanny; yet I like that his own personal style, or "voice", comes through nonetheless.
Meanwhile, the present story line of Chris' Bruno has been a real emotional tightrope. Y'know: taut, harrowing, difficult to maintain balance—and certainly better to watch than to live, in my acrophobic opinion. I'd attempt a plot summary, but if you are uninitiated with the strip, you will find a more rewarding reading experience by reading from the beginning—or buying a book or two. Either way, it's worth it.
