Dumbfounded Feelings About Work

That was my experience when working as a bug tester on a fairly well known piece of graphics software. I found a feature that didn't work right in our product and worked right in all of our competitor products (on both Mac and Windows), and worked right in the Mac version of our own product. There was a checkbox where you would select the resolution and color depth of the bitmap you were exporting and instead of doing what you selected, it would ignore your selections and export the bitmap at whatever resolution and color depth your video card was running at. I went to the boss with my discovery and his only reply was: "they can buy a Mac." I explained that it wasn't a Windows problem, that our competitors had it working right. "They can buy a Mac."

I'm sure this story makes Kip happier than a blaby in fresh Pampers!
